This paper studies about ‘Makgan’. Makgan is the intermission shows performed on the stage between scene and scene, or between work and work. Many spectators liked to see the Makgan than the main play on Korea in 1920's to 1940's. Wyoeweonjwa is well known as Makgan, and is a theatrical troupe that led Korean theatrical circles in the second half of 1930s. As yet, the study of Wyoeweonjwa and Makgan aren't progressed. So Makgan remains obscurity. This paper intend to examine Makgan's feature and Makgan as the theater type of popular drama and the beginning of physical theater. This study will be a groundwork of the restoration of Korean Play's history
