박완서 소설에 나타난 수평적 新가족 공동체 형성 -『그해 겨울은 따뜻했네』를 중심으로-

Abstract

The winter was warm in that year raises the fundamental question among the dilemma that entirely blockades the individual ethical responsibility that spreads into the logic of survival and compulsion on the sense of guilt that the theme of family loss urges. The vertical blood ties family in the Korean society was recognized as the destiny community. It has the character of the incomplete group maintained by the acting thing redeeming the evil elements immanent in the individual and the conspiracy of the crime. The anxiety on the Korean war divides the children's instinct into the evil existence and good child complex. The O-mok falls as the Homo Sacer in the family due to the conspiracy of the language violence and war. Soo-ji endlessly faces the individual ethics even in the rich life of the middle class due to the sense of guilt of abandoning her brother. Characters who forged the awareness by the rationalization of ‘we’ through the conspiracy of the crime approach to the individual ethics as setting the atonement of the crime. The truth on the real father of Il-nam, silver gourd dipper, and the orphanage as Object a of the Real are the equal spot of the vertical blood ties family that the individual should face in the situation which Omok-Sooji-Soocheol face. The vertical blood ties family bursts by the truth the characters face away. The formation of the new family community becomes possible by Soo-ji who realized “the cold and that odd hunger in 1951” escaping from the conspiracy of the crime. The talented persons Soo-ji and dead O-mok left and Il-hwan's children are the group of orphans and the community of Others. Park's novel pursues the horizontal new family community that admits the Otherness of the family members in the situation that the closeness of the blood ties and hierarchy.
