從尋根文學看鄕土中國的現代處境

Abstract

In the 1980’s, many authors explored the rural roots of Chinese culture in new type of literature called “searching for roots literature”(尋根文學). These works indicate the climax of a new era Chinese literature .And they reveal the crisis of society and culture during the period in which china changed from a rural country into a modern one. Authors focused on the relationship of tradition to modernization. According to different authors, there are two main attitudes towards rural tradition. Conservatives try to retrieve tradition, and radicals criticize tradition in order to criticize the present conditions. Both, however, are connected with main stream individuation in the 1980’s. This paper discusses the classic text Little Bao Village by Anyi Wang. It analyzes the crisis of old China during the progress of modernization. And it aims to elucidate both the achievements and limitations of searching for roots literature.
