『지구 끝의 온실』에 나타난 자연재해 아포칼립스 세계의 주체와 공동체 연구

본고는 기술 문명이 만들어낸 자연재해를 다루는 김초엽의 소설 『지구 끝의 온실』을 통해 자연재해 아포칼립스 세계를 살아가는 인간의 권리 박탈의 의미와 공동체의 해체 원리, 이 특수한 상황 속에서 공동체의 재건을 위한 주체는 누구인지를 연구하였다. 우선 아포칼랍스 상황 속에서 인간의 권리는 철저히 말소되었으며, 이를 통해 인권이나 기본권 등의 자연권은 집단을 통해서만 성취될 수 있다는 점이 드러났다. 또한 상징적 공동체는 근본적으로 ‘적대’라는 한계를 지니고 있는데 아포칼립스 상황 속에서의 공동체는 한정된 자원 때문에 자신을 봉합하는데 실패할 수밖에 없다는 점을 밝혔다. 마지막으로 기술적 대상은 사회의 불일치나 대립, 긴장이나 갈등을 봉합할 수 있는 특별한 존재이기도 해서 환경으로 인한 문제를 해소할 수 있고, 녹색 주체는 지구에서의 거주 적합성을 꾸려가는 존재로서 자신과 비인간의 존속과 접속을 동시에 사유하는 존재임을 나타냈다. 이 모든 것은 물론 지구라는 행성의 환경 문제에 직면한 인류세 시대의 우리와 밀접한 관계가 있다. 『지구 끝의 온실』은 인류세 시대를 사는 우리에게 삶의 한 방법을 알려준다.
Abstract
This paper examines the meaning of human disenfranchisement and the principle of community disintegration in a natural disaster apocalyptic world through Kim cho yeop novel the 『Greenhouse at the End of the World』, which deals with natural disasters created by technological civilization, and studied who is rebuilding the community in this particular situation. first of all, human rights have been thoroughly expunged in the Apocalypse, and this shows that natural rights such as human rights and fundamental rights can only be fulfilled through the collective. also noted that symbolic communities are inherently ‘antagonistic,’ meaning that communities in an apocalyptic situation are bound to fail to suture themselves due to limited resources. finally, technological objects are also special beings that can suture disagreements, conflicts, tensions, or conflicts in society, and thus solve problems caused by the environment, the green subject was represented as a being who simultaneously contemplates her own existence and the existence of non-humans, as a being who organizes the suitability of living on Earth. all of this of course is relevant to us in the Anthropocene facing the environmental challenges of our planet. the 『Greenhouse at the End of the World』 offers us a way of life in the Anthropocene.
