Abstract

This study utilized data from 6,241 people who experienced daily forest recreation and welfare activities from the Forest Recreation and Welfare Activity Survey, which is conducted annually by the Korea Forest Service. Cluster analysis and binary logistic regression analysis were conducted to identify the type characteristics of daily forest recreation and welfare activities and demographic factors that influence activity selection. The results showed that daily forest recreation and welfare activities are categorized into two types shich are health-oriented weekday individual and weekend, and that age group has the strongest influence on these characteristics. Through this study, it was concluded that to improve the participation rate of weekday activities, it is possible to utilize space by considering the differences in the characteristics of the user groups, such as creating urban forests with high physical accessibility in major living areas to improve walking accessibility, and focusing on family users who visit by car on weekends. Through this study, it is expected to provide a place where people can experience various forest recreation and welfare activities in their daily lives and improve their quality of life.
