Yeats and Eliot, though both are contemporary, are regarded as different poets, and we should not overlook different literary features. Eliot draws modern man and his life realistically, about which many scholars have studied. In this paper, I want to make a comparison between Eliot’s conception of man and his life with Yeats’s, as Yeats also seems to treat the same subject in a similar way to Eliot’s. Both poets’s way of looking at man is summed up: spiritual instability, insecurity, purposelessness, vacancy.
Abstract
Yeats and Eliot, though both are contemporary, are regarded as different poets, and we should not overlook different literary features.
