17세기 小氷期 氣候 연구의 현황과 과제

Abstract

This paper consists of two parts. The first part examines the studies in the climate of the 17th century, the Little Ice Age, which has been conducted in the West, China and Japan over the second half of the 20th century. It shows how interdisciplinary methods of research became refined and their results more accurate by integrating phenology, glaciology, tree-ring analysis, and so forth. The second part focuses on the similar researches in Korea, which is still in a rudimentary stage, and makes some suggestions on how to improve research methods and expand the analysis of temperature and precipitation to the study of agricultural production and social changes in 17th-century Korea.
