Abstract

This article explains two kinds of effects of meditation and contemplation : peace of mind and concentration of spirit. One of the best methods of releasing stress is meditation. During meditation, we can interpret concentration as having an open and receptible mind. Meditation is also an effective training method to change ones mental emotional state and physiological stress. Meditation is one of the most ideal forms of training and is well-founded especially in relation to physiology and physics; meditation training can cause brain respiration which is related to exercise, and is very helpful to improve the health of the human body. In this process, ones volition and progress of an individuals spiritual development can be facilitated. It can even be a dynamic device of self- metamorphosis, as well as a spiritual experience. Contemplation is a shorter way to the most perfect awareness and consciousness, and it is the passage to a conscious union with a higher spirituel self (God) and there is 'a vast potential for energy and power'. Therefore, contemplation is the first (or the best) step to acquire the beneficial intellectual and spiritual base for meditation authentic in Christian mysticism.
