초록

Based on rich interview data with Korean immigrants from Latin America residing in the New York area, this ethnographic research explores Korean Americans’ religious involvement beyond their ethnic boundary. As Korean and Latino immigrants share increasingly close interactions with each other in various urban settings, Korean immigrants from Latin America are especially active in Korean communities’ religious outreach to Latinos in New York. Four patterns are identified in this study. Not only the cross-cultural religious experience itself but also the familiarity with Latin American culture and language that the Korean diaspora acquired in Latin America have been very conducive to their evangelical works in the U.S.

Abstract
