Abstract
Maria's pregnancy, which actively adopted the bible, allows the practical conditions as an unconditional faith and accepts the revelation of glorious power of God, and as the result, it gives transcendental and mystical impression.Joseph's death in A carpenter Joseph results from provocative speaking and defiant behaviors of Jesus. The distance between the bible and fiction presents the tragedy generated by violating Confucian disciplines and also criticism against Christianity excluding secularistic family-oriented idea based on blood relation. In The Resurrection, Kim Dong-ri looks at it as a superhuman with very strong mental power and special body resuscitates rather than as the Resurrection. That means he doesn't admit cross of Jesus as the Atonement and salvation. Therefore, this work overlooks the essence of Christianity and stays at the common level. As I examined the works according to the order they were released, Christian novels of Kim Dong-ri start from admitting irrational mystical world and get transformed to secularist and realistic world. Such change in his awareness originates from his Shamanism world view and tradition- oriented conservatism.
