미겔 몰리노스와 성 아우구스티누스의 신비: 영적안내와 고백록을 중심으로

몰리노스의 정적주의 사상은 성 아우구스티누스의 고백록의 핵심메시지를 근거로 하고 있다. 아우구스티누스는 자신의 삶과 회심 이야기를 들려주면서 정적주의 테마를 설명하는데, 자신의 삶속에서 겪은 여러 사건들을 성찰한 후 그리스도교인의 삶에 관하여, 특히 내적인 삶과 기도에 관한 명상을 했다. 고백록은 여러 세기에 걸쳐 많은 영향을 미쳤으며 특히 몰리노스는 아우구스티누스 영성의 직속 후계자로서 그의 영적안내에는 아우구스티누스의 반향을 짙게 찾아볼 수 있다. 이런 의미에서 신안에서 쉬도록 되어있는 아우구스티누스의 교리가 어떻게 몰리노스의 내적인 삶 가운데 작용하는지 살펴볼 것이다. 몰리노스에 의하면 신이 우리 안에서 행하는 일은 그 분께 해야만 할 일을 우리에게 보여주는 일로서 신과의 통교는 자기 부정과 신안에서의 휴식의 중요한 측면이다. 명상에서 가장 중요한 행위는 신의 음성을 들을 수 있는 것이며, 또 신이 전하는 뜻을 듣고 들으려 한다는 것이다. 아우구스티누스와 그의 후계자 몰리노스가 제안하는 신앙여정의 결론은 신에 대한 신뢰, 자아포기, 명상이며, 그럼으로써 크리스천이 아우구스티누스가 약속한 성령 안에서 휴식과 쉼을 얻도록 그들을 초대하고 있다.
Abstract
The idea of quietism is based on the central message of St. Augustine’s Confessions. St. Augustine exposes the theme of quietism in telling the story of his life and conversion. After having examined the events of his life, Augustine reflects on the Christian life, especially the interior life and prayer. The Confessions have had great influence through the centuries, and Molinos is a direct heir of Augustinian spirituality. In his Spiritual Guide, one often finds echoes of St. Augustine. Molinos clarifies how Augustine’s Doctrine (having been made to rest in God) operates in the inner life. In this context, the communication with God is the crucial aspect of self-denial and rest in God. In prayer, the most important act is to listen to the voice of God. The prayer is so closely connected to self-denial and love of God. What is the result suggested by Augustine and his heir Molinos? Trust in God, renunciation and prayer lead Christians into the rest promised by Augustine. The rest is the greatest possible happiness for humans, filled with delight and joy.
