魏晉玄學家의 自然觀의 思惟體系와 文論家에 끼친 影響 ―　劉？과 鍾嶸을 중심으로

Abstract

This paper reviews the concept of profound theory in the period of the Wei-Jin dynasties, historical background on the formation of the theory, and controversies on the concept of nature. This paper also deals with the profound theorists’ views of nature, their thought formulation, and their influence on theories of creative Chinese literature. In addition this paper examines the influence of the profound theory on the formation of estheticism represented in the Wei-Jin theorists’ views on nature. There were various views on the concept of nature in the period of the Wei-Jin dynasties: Laozi brought up the issue of spontaneity of nature, Zhuangzi transformed into the discussion of dynamics of nature, Wangbi argued it on the basis of intrinsic attribute of nature, and in turn Guoxiang developed it into the discussion of self-acquirement. Both Wangbi and Guoxiang, who opposed to canonical thought, emphasized on naturalness and greatly influenced the theories of Chinese literature in those days. Overall, this paper attempted to examine the possibly close relationship between the profound thinking and the theory of literature. Further studies paying closer attention to views of nature and their influence on literature are called for.
