초록
This paper intends to show that Marx's economy is the inverse of Aristotle's. For Aristotle, acquisition of use values, money as means of exchange and action are natural, whereas pursuit of exchange value, money as hoard and production are not. Moreover, natural slaves qualify as quasi-equal partners of their masters, whereas conventional slaves are at variance with their masters. The capitalist economy as Marx conceptualizes it seems to be the opposite of Aristotle's moral economy. Moreover, Marx's categories such as money, valorization and the working class can be interpreted as dialectical combinations of Aristotle's corresponding concepts such as means of exchange/hoard, production/action, and natural/conventional slavery. JEL Classification Codes: B11, B14, B31
Abstract
This paper intends to show that Marx's economy is the inverse of Aristotle's. The capitalist economy as Marx conceptualizes it seems to be the opposite of Aristotle's moral economy.
