회백색 종피 잎채소용 들깨품종 “만백들깨”

Abstract

Manbaekdeulkae, a vegetable perilla (Perilla frutescens (L.) Britton), was developed by pure line selection from theKimhae local colection at the National Yeongnam Agricultural Experiment Station, Milyang, Kyungnam. Manbaekdeulkae ischaracterized by the green hypocotyl, white flower, heart- shaped purple-back leaf and white seed coat color. The average lengthand width of Manbaekdeulkae leaf showed 12.1 cm and 1 cm with leaf area of 91 cm2 respectively. Maturing of Manbaekdeulk-kae was 5 days later than Ipdlkae 1 (Nov. 3 vs. Oct. 25). It is equaly susceptible to leaf rust (Coleosporium perillae) and graymold (Physarum cimereum Persoon) as Ipdlkkae 1 (score of 3 vs. 3 and 3 vs. 3 on a scale of 0 to 9, respectively). The fresh leafyield of Manbaekdeulkkae is 3% higher than that of Ipdlkkae 1 (3,908 vs. 3,776 kg/10a). For the leaf production, Manbaekdeulk-kae can be cultivated any places in South Korea. However, for the seed production, the southern part of Korea such as Kyungnamand Chungnam provinces is appropriate because of its late maturation.
