Abstract

ingeonmi is a new sweetpotato variety developed from the Mokpo Experiment Station, National Honam Agricul-tural Experiment Station (NHAES), Rural Development Administration (RDA) in 2001, which was resistant to fusarium wiltcaused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. batatas. This variety was selected from the cross between okpo 22and hinyulmiin1994, seedling and line selections were practiced from 1995 to 1996, and preliminary and advanced yield trials were carried outfrom 1997 to 1998. The regional yield trials were conducted at five locations from 1999 to 2001. ingeonmi has cordate shape ofleaf, green vine and petiole, elliptic shape of storage root, light red skin and light yellow flesh of storage root. The average yield ofstorage root was 25.7 ton/ha in the regional yield trials, which was 18% higher than that of ulmivariety. Number of storageroots over 50 gram per plant was 3.3, and the average weight of one storage root was 154 gram. This variety can be planted in allsweetpotato production regions.
