농촌과 도시의 공존을 위한 인식론적 전환: 근대화론 비판

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to suggest epistemological reorientation for rural-urban coexistence. The modernization theory became dominant paradigm in 1960s and have a great influence on Korea. We examined modernization theory and criticized intention to Westernization and urbanization immanent in the modernization theory in sociological and economical viewpoint. We also criticized methodological problem, the unilinear process of development, and development first policy exclusion of tradition immanent in the modernization theory. And we suggested rural-urban coexistence in according to need of times, agricultural functions for public benefits of rural areas.
