Abstract

Voice Daily, first issue released at Gando (Yanbian) in February 1928, in the ever increasing Anti-Japanese sentiment, was compelled to stop release under the suppression of the Japanese Imperialism in 1931. In a historical background when the destiny of the nation facing critical moment of life and death, Voice Daily, which upheld anti-imperialism, anti-feudalism signifying progressiveness, was the sole Korean Journal published openly in Yanbian at that time. It is also currently a vital historical material for researches in fields such as History, Politics, Economy, Education, Culture of Yanbian region in the late 1920s. Through the research on the publishing background, journal operating and editing systems, edition direction, report content as well as report tendency of Voice Daily in the late 1920’s,thisstudyrevealedthatVoice Daily was the journal with thoughts and tendency seeking to promote National Independence and Anti-Japanese Invasion, to promote theoretical practice and exploration in National Movement and Labor Movement, to promote New Culture & Revitalization of Nation through Education, and to call on arduous struggle for the surviving and living right in immigration to Gando. Voice Daily, as a progressive journal representing Anti-imperialism, Anti-feudalism, a media spreading new thoughts and culture, and as a witness of historical period of that time, took an undeniable position in the journal history of Korean ethnicity in China,aswellasinthejournalhistoryofOverseasKorean.
