17세기 朝鮮 儒學의 微視 敍事를 통한 家族 認識 ─尤庵 宋時烈과 農巖 金昌協의 祭文을 중심으로─

본 논문의 목적은 17세기 조선 유학자들이 여성 가족을 위해 지은 제문의 감정 서사에 주목하여, 조선 유학의 가족과 여성 인식을 살펴보는 것이다. 조선 유학의 가족과 여성에 대한 인식을 고찰하고자 하는 본 논문이 특별히 17세기의 제문에 주목하는 이유는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 17세기는 조선 사회에서 양난 이후 총체적인 사회 변화에 대비하여 주자학의 절대화와 가부장적 예제가 강화되기 위한 노력이 있었다는 것이다. 둘째, 이러한 흐름과는 다른 방면으로 17세기에는 여성에 대한 남성 유학자들의 글이 눈에 띄게 크게 증가하고 감정에 대한 새로운 논의의 장이 펼쳐지기도 하는 등 다양한 변화가 시도되었다는 것이다. 본 논문은 17세기 남성 유학자들이 죽은 여성 가족을 위해 지은 제문에 나타나는 가족 간의 사적 친밀성과 애정에 기반한 감정 서사의 구조와 가족 내 여성의 지위와 역할 등을 살펴본다. 제망실문과 제망매문, 그리고 제망녀문에 나타난 남편, 오라비, 아버지의 아내, 여동생, 딸에 대한 사적 감정 서사를 고찰하는 속에서 남성 유학자들이 죽은 여성 가족과 관련해서 기억하는 것은 무엇인지, 그들이 기억하는 내용들은 어떤 의미로 해석될 수 있는지 등을 고찰하는 것이다. 이를 통해 그 동안 전통 유학의 가족과 여성에 대한 연구 방식이 주로 유교적 이념, 제도에 치중해 왔던 것을 비판적으로 인식하고, 전통 유학의 가족과 여성 인식의 새로운 접근 방법을 제시하고자 한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to observe the cognition of family and women in Chosun dynasty's Confucianism by focusing on the family emotional narrative in funeral oration that seventeenth century Chosun dynasty Confucian scholars wrote for female family members. This thesis focuses specifically on funeral oration from the seventeenth century because of these reasons. First, during the seventeenth century, there were efforts to fortify the absolutization of neo-Confucianism and patriarchic practices, in defense of overall societal changes after a dilemma in the Chosun society. Secondly, different from this kind of flow, in the seventeenth century, the number of male Confucian scholar’s writings on women has increased dramatically and a new discussion about emotion stretched out, thereby attempting various changes. Accordingly, this thesis observes the structure of emotional narrative based on private intimacy and affection among family members, and the status and role of women within families, and etc. apparent in funeral oration for deceased female family members that the male Confucian scholars wrote in the seventeenth century. While considering the husband, brother, and father’s emotional description regarding the wife, sister, and daughter, what is it that male Confucian scholars remember about the deceased female family members and how can these remembered contents be interpreted as? Through this, the author critically recognizes the fact that research method on family and women in traditional Confucianism has been concentrated on Confucian ideas and institutions, as well as attempts to suggest a new approach method towards family and women cognition in traditional Confucianism.
