본 연구에서는 온라인 소셜 네트워크, 사회자본, 그리고 정책참여의 3차원 관계를 분석하였다. 서울 소재 대학생을 대상으로 설문조사 방법을 활용하여 연구한 본 논문에서는 소셜 네트워크는 정보탐색 모형, 사회적 교류 모형, 문화적 모형으로 인식되고 있으며, 사회자본은 신뢰, 기회균등, 평등, 그리고 관용으로 구성되고, 정책참여는 기관 및 서비스 접근성, 정책과정 참여, 정책변동 참여로 유형화된다는 사실을 발견할 수 있었다. 본 논문에서는 소셜 네트워크에는 사회자본도 있었다는 점을 확인할 수 있었고, 한 걸음 더 나아가 소셜 네트워크에는 정책참여를 이끌어내는 힘도 아울러 함께 가지고 있었다는 점을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 논문에서의 특이한 점은 신뢰는 사회자본의 대명사처럼 여겨지는 하위구성요소이지만 정책참여와 직접적인 상관관계를 보이지 않았다는 점이었다.
Abstract
This study explores the tri-dimensional relationship between nn-line social network, social capital, and policy participation with data collected from college students in Seoul, Korea. This study confirmed that the psychological construction of on-line social network can be classified into the information-seeking model, social interaction model, and cultural mediation model, that social capital can be constructed based on social trust, equal opportunity, equality, and tolerance, and that policy participation can be divided into three modes: accessability, participation in policy-making, and participation in policy change. This study showed that there is social capital in social network, and that social network has influence on the vitalization of policy participation. However, social trust, although it is considered as a key social capital construct, did not show a correlation with policy participation.
