상담심리학 연구 동향과 도전과제: “한국심리학회지: 상담 및 심리치료” 게재논문(2015-2022) 분석

최근 심리상담 법제화를 추진하기 위한 여러 법안이 발의되는 과정에서 상담심리학계에서는 심리상담 법제화 과정에서 상담심리 분야의 역할과 정체성, 차별성을 어떻게 드러낼 것인가에 대한 고민도 한층 치열해졌다. 그리고 이러한 고민은 상담심리학 연구에도 반영된다. 본 연구는 상담심리학 연구 동향을 파악하여 상담심리학의 정체성과 도전과제를 점검하고, 앞으로의 발전방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 구체적으로 온라인 논문투고가 정착된 2015년부터 2022년까지 최근 8년간 “한국심리학회지: 상담 및 심리치료”에 게재된 논문의 전반적인 동향을 연구자 소속, 연구대상, 연구방법, 연구주제를 중심으로 분석하였다. 또한, 8년간 연구 동향분석과 함께 연도별 특성을 분석하여 투고 시기에 따른 연구 동향에서 주목할 만한 특징이 있는지를 탐색해 보았다. 분석결과, 연구자는 국내대학 소속(88.7%)이 가장 높았고, 연구대상으로는 성인(47.1%)이 가장 높았으며 다음으로 대학생(24.9%)으로 나타났다. 양적방법론을 사용한 연구가 72.2%로 가장 많았다. 연구주제면에서 성격과 적응(47.3%)을 주제로 한 연구의 빈도가 가장 높았다. 투고시기에 따른 연구 동향에서 주목할 점은 연구주제 측면에서 상담성과 및 과정 연구가 더욱 줄고 2019년 이후로 다양성 주제 연구가 2020년 이후로 상담서비스 인식 주제 연구가 늘어난 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 연구주제와 연구방법의 다양화, 상담자 교육과 훈련, 상담심리학 연구의 발전방향에 대한 시사점과 제언을 제시하였다.
Abstract
The counseling psychology community in Korea is grappling with role, identity, and differentiation issues in the process of legislating counseling psychology licensure. These concerns and challenges are reflected in counseling psychology research. This study analyzed trends in research, examining field identity and challenges, and proposed future directions. We analyzed the overall and yearly trends of the articles in the Korean Journal of Counseling and Psychotherapy from 2015 to 2022, focusing on researcher affiliation, participants, method, and topics. Most researchers were affiliated with domestic universities (88.7%). Adults (47.1%) and college students (24.9%) were common participants. Quantitative methodology (72.2%) and the topic of personality and adaptation (47.3%) were the most prevalent. There were fewer studies on counseling outcomes and processes, while there was an increase in research on diversity since 2019 and on perceptions of counseling services since 2020. We presented implications and suggestions for the diversification of research topics and methods, counselor education and training, and future research directions.
