메타프론티어를 이용한 사립전문대학 효율성 분석

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the efficiency of private junior colleges using Meta －Frontier analysis. For this objective, we set 2018 quantitative indicators for basic assessment of university competency as input and output variables. 120 schools were selected out of 128 private junior colleges with initial exclusion of 3 schools, the other 3 schools for some data missing from college information disclosure and the rest 2 showing aberrant data. Variables from 2012 to 2017 were computed for the Meta－Frontier analysis. Relative efficiency for each college was measured by BCC models using the Ems 1.3 program. A group analysis was conducted on six input variables to determine the relationships between inputs and outputs of each college for those six years. As a result of the analysis, first, it could be found in the technical statistics analysis that most colleges are abnormally increasing their financial spending to input variables in order to obtain high scores in evaluation. This may be primarily ascribed to the rather short term effects through immediate financial inputs. Meanwhile, in the case of output variables, it is difficult to bring substantial effects in a relatively short time with respect to college performance. Second, from the viewpoint of efficiency, colleges in Honam & Jeju as well as Daegu－Gyeongbuk areas are showing isomorphism in their operation, whose standard deviations in indicators of relative efficiency are smaller than those of other areas. Types of colleges in Korea were classified into four groups on the basis of input variables. However, although the degree of differences may a little vary, the relative efficiency indicators ​ ​ of all the four groups have been showing, in general, declines for those six years.
