Abstract

The aviation market is fiercely competing every year to occupy the aviation service market, and each airline is making efforts to build its own special image. In this study, attention was paid to the image of airline flight attendants, and the effect of flight attendants’ image on human service quality was to be verified empirically, focusing on the crew’s cognitive image and the airline’s emotional image. For the purpose of this study, 404 questionnaires were collected for about two months from June 2020 for passengers who have used domestic airlines and have been serviced by male and female flight attendants, and a total of 404 were used for empirical analysis. Empirical analysis of this study shows that factors in the image of an airline flight attendant have a significant effect on the cognitive image of a flight attendant, and that the image of an airline flight attendant has a positive effect on the cognitive image of a flight attendant. Looking at whether the factors of the airline crew’s image significantly affect the quality of human services, the head shape, body shape, and speech style have a positive effect on the quality of human services, but the uniform does not affect the quality of human services. Among the factors of the airline crew’s image, uniforms and speech styles were shown to have a positive effect on the airline’s emotional image, but head shape and body shape were shown to have no effect on the airline’s emotional image. Furthermore, an examination of whether the cognitive image of a flight attendant significantly affects the quality of human services found that the cognitive image of a flight attendant has a positive effect on the quality of human services. Studies have shown that cognitive images of flight attendants have a significant impact on human service quality, suggesting what qualities should be improved first when training airline attendants. Studies show that the external image of an airline flight attendant significantly affects the cognitive and emotional image of the airline show that the more friendly and courteous the passenger’s questions, active in passenger needs, intelligent speech and speech, and consideration for the airline. Therefore, it suggests that specific measures should be taken to elicit the airline’s emotional image in a good way by providing services to respond more actively to passengers and satisfy their individual needs.
