조선시대 醫官 書啓에 대한 고찰

Abstract

Seogye(書啓) is a document written when an ordered officer(奉命官) who had the King’s order in Joseon dynasty and was dispatched to the outside reported his debriefing(復命) results. This paper explored the seogye written by the royal physician(醫官) among the various ordered officers. The royal physician’s seogye issuers were many of the Royal Medical Clinic(內醫院)’s officials, besides, it has characteristic in that if one is from the royal physician with versed in medicine, they were assigned to a patient’s residence by a king’s order and wrote a seogye. Because of this characteristic, it is necessary to understand the issuer of the royal physician’s seogye in a wider range. The total of the existing royal physician’s seogye is seven, and those are included in the Yesan-Hanyang Jo clan’s King Hyojong’s scrapbook of King’s writing 孝廟御筆帖and the Yagok Sŏnsaeng chip 冶谷先生集. In the case of Yagok Snsaeng chip 冶谷先生集, the original document was reproduced close to the fact by using the wooden printing-type. The form of the royal physician’s seogye that was examined through the existing documents was not written a specific preface, but it was directly written the main body, and the main body was formed with written the patient’s symptoms and prescriptions. The concluding remarks of the Seogye were also ‘JeonChaGyeDalHyangGyoSiSha(詮次啓達向敎是事)’, which was consistent with writing method the Seungjeongwon ilgi(Journal of the Royal Secretariat) 承政院日記. When the main body was completely filled out, the date was written using the sexagenary cycle and month, and Day. After that, It was written the issuer in the way of ‘Title + Full name(臣+姓名)’ in the case of the current royal physician and ‘Regular vocations + Title + Full name(本職+臣+姓名)’ in the case of not the current royal physician. For the received Seogye, the king gave a specific order such as dispatching additional drugs and royal physicians necessary for nursing along with stamping the GyeJaIn(啓字印), which was meant the king’s decision. The actual items of the Seogye confirmed so far are not only rare, but also related studies are insufficient. This study intends to put meaning in that it presented and analyzed the present condition of the existing royal physician’s seogye, in this situation. It is expected to help to the in-depth understanding of the Seogye in the Joseon Dynasty in the future.
