Defense software need a high level of reliability because of its characteristics. The failure of the defense software determines the win or loss of the battle. Therefore, various development methodologies and test methods are applied to the development of defense software. However, due to the complexity of reliability testing, the scope and subjects of testing are expanding. This problem has adverse effects such as increased cost and extended development period. To solve this problem, 6 sigma was applied to defense software development and its effectiveness was verified. In addition, the effectiveness was analyzed to be used for the development of KDDX, which will be developed later.
