한국여성의 출산의지 결정요인

본 논문은 저출산‧고령화 사회에 접어든 한국에서 미혼여성들과 기혼여성들의 경제적, 사회문화적 환경을 고려하여 우리나라 여성들의 출산에 영향을 미치는 요인들이 어떤 것이 있는지를 검토하고, 그 영향요인의 타당성을 경험적으로 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 출산의지와 관련된 다양한 이론과 선행연구를 기초로 6개 요인과 21개의 독립변수들 추출하고 이들 변수가 종속변수인 출산의지에 영향을 미치는 관계를 검토하였다. 분석 결과로 5% (또는 10%) 유의수준에서 통계적 유의성이 있는 변수는 소득수준, 양육비(10%), 일과 자녀의 양립, 자신의 삶에 투자, 무자녀 소신, 부부의 삶의 질, 자아성취욕구, 만혼성향, 고용안정, 정부시책인지도, 믿을만한 보육시설, 탄력근무제, 사회보험 및 세제지원, 보육서비스 지원, 출산의료지원(10%), 친화적 문화 환경조성 등 16개 변수였고, 학력수준, 주택비용, 출산 후 직장복귀, 여성의 사회적 지위, 출산휴가 이용 등 5개의 변수는 통계적 유의성이 없었다. 통계적 유의성이 있는 16개 변수들 중에 이론적 기대와 다르게 나온 변수는 소득수준, 일과 자녀의 양립, 보육서비스 지원 등 3개의 변수였고, 나머지 13개 변수 즉, 양육비, 자신의 삶에 투자, 무자녀 소신, 부부의 삶의 질, 자아성취욕구, 만혼성향, 고용안정, 정부시책인지도, 믿을만한 보육시설, 탄력근무제, 사회보험 및 세제지원, 출산의료지원, 친화적 문화 환경조성 등이 이론적 기대와 일치하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to analyze various types of each woman's behavior regarding their decision-making for fertility. More concretely, it is to examine the effects of various factors influencing married and single Korean women's total fertility rateand verify their validities empirically. In order to examine this empirically, I have constructed 6 determining factors and 21 independent variables for Korean women's fertility behaviors based upon previous studies and theories and then examined comprehensively how those factors and independent variables affect dependent variable through the multiple regression analysis.. Through conducting a comparative analysis of women's behaviors to childbirth and their influence factors, I have reached that they are consistent to theoretical expectancy and significantat at 5% statistical significant level. After analyzing so far twenty-one variables and six factors in regard to women's behaviors to childbirth, it showed that sixteen variables are statistically significant at the level of 5% (or 10%). They are ⅰ) income level, ⅱ) child-rearing expense, ⅲ) compatibility with work and child-rearing, ⅳ) the investment of her own life, ⅴ) conviction for preferring no children, ⅵ) quality life of husband and wife, ⅶ) strong desire of her own achievement, ⅷ) tendency for late marriage, ⅸ) stability of employment, ⅹ) awareness of the government policies, ⅺ) reliable child care facilities, ⅻ) flexible work, ⅹⅲ) social insurance and tax support, ⅹⅳ) daycare service support, ⅹⅴ) childbirth medical support(10%) and, ⅹⅵ) creating cultural environment. And five variables are not statistically insignificant at 5% (or 10%) significant level. They are ⅰ) level of schooling, ⅱ) cost of housing, ⅲ) return to work after childbirth, ⅳ) social status of women. ⅴ) maternity leave. Analysis shows that among the seventeen variables which are statistically significant at 5%(or 10%) significance level, three variables are not agreed as theoretically expected. They are ⅰ) income level, ⅱ) compatibility with work and child-rearing, ⅲ) daycare service support. Remaining fourteen variables are agreed as theoretically expected.
