초록
A nation’s ability to advance depends heavily on its infrastructure, which is frequently built using concrete. Self-compactingconcrete (SCC) is well-liked for its mechanical, durability and workability. But there is a problem: natural aggregate isscarce. In light of the depletion of natural resources, investigating substitute materials is essential to maintaining buildingquality. The ceramic tile business has developed into a highly industrialized sector within the last 20 years, producing a largeamount of trash. This trash presents environmental risks and pollutes the air, water, and land since it is made up of ceramiccombinations. The environment and public health are adversely affected by around 30% of the trash produced every day inthe ceramics industry. Although some research points to the possible use of ceramic waste in building materials, its acceptanceis hampered by a lack of clear regulations, which puts the sector in the face of growing waste management difficulties. Thisresearch looks at using leftover ceramic tile as fine aggregate in SCC. Six SCC mixes were made, with the amount of leftoverceramic tile ranging from 0% to 50%. Based on fresh, mechanical, and durability qualities, the mix’s density and homogeneityare enhanced by the use of discarded ceramic tile. The SCC combinations provide positive results in terms of improvedmechanical strength and optimum durability qualities, especially when natural M-sand is substituted by 40%.
