Abstract

The purpose of this study is to apply the concept of spiritual well-being which is well known as essential elements of human health & well-being to the field of tourism and to propose the worth in tourism study. Also this study is initially examine the relationships among the elements of spiritual well-being, psychological and social health elements of tourism activity. The conceptual model was tested by using the data which was collected from 613 participants via conducting internet survey. A self-completion questionnaire was used to measure the constructs through using a structural equation modeling. Validity and reliability were ensured, and the results showed that the hypothesized model was obtained with a good model fit. The results showed that there were statistically significant influences of spiritual well-being of tourism activity on the psychological and social health elements of tourism activity, but there were no significant impacts of ‘transpersonal well-being’ element of spiritual well-being on both ‘confidence’ of psychological health and ‘sociality’ of social health. From the results, theoretical and practical implication were suggested.
