Abstract

This study looked at the effects of the congruence among the product, consumer, and celebrity endorser personality on product attachment. Within the marketing communication strategy, the advertisement with celebrity endorsers is a very important tool. The celebrity endorser acts as a strong influence for products and consumers. Product, consumer and celebrity endorser personalities are characters of their own and distinguish others. And this study's questionnaire utilized the cellular phone and actual celebrity endorsers. It seems there was an effect of congruence between each of the personalities on product attachment based on the regression analysis with fact scores and ANOVA and t-test with mean of 4 groups divided median after the consumer survey. The study was not a utilized scenario approach but rather presented a new approach that was the research design amongst the first person of consumers that experienced the product. As a result, it found that the congruence between consumer and product personality and between elebrity endorsor and product personality influenced product attachment positively. And the congruence among product, consumer, and celebrity endorser personality had a more positive influence on product attachment than the congruence between consumer and product personality or the congruence between celebrity endorser personality and product personality. In additional analysis, There was also difference between the effects of the congruence between the consumer and product personality on product attachment and the effect of the congruence between celebrity endorser and product personality on product attachment.
