Advanced biofuels are recognized as a key tool to mitigate the CO2 emissions in the transport sector. Active R&Dworks have been carried out but there are still some major barriers to implement the technology. In this paper, recent developmentson the advanced biofuels’ technology are reviewed and the major barriers to commercialization of the biofuels will be discussed.
