Sexual Function of Diabetic and Non-Diabetic Women in Korea: A Comparative Study

초록

Abstract

목 적 : 본 연구는 당뇨여성과 비당뇨여성의 성기능 정도를 비교 분석하여 당뇨여성의 성기능 정도를 파악하고, 당뇨관련 질병특성별 성기능 정도의 차이를 분석하여 당뇨여성의 성기능에 영향을 주는 변인들을 파악하고자 함에 목적을 둔다. 방 법 : 2004년 7월 31일부터 9월 16일 사이에 G시에 거주하는 비당뇨여성(119명)과 C대학병원과 K병원 외래를 주기적으로 방문하는 당뇨여성(89명)을 편의표집하였으며, 연구도구는 일반적, 건강관련, 당뇨관련 질병특성에 관한 질문지와 Taylor et al.(1994)이 개발한 성기능 도구인 Brief Index of Sexual Function in Women(BISF-W)을 이용하였다. 수집된 자료는 SAS 프로그램을 사용하여 χ2-test, t-test, ANOVA, ANCOVA 그리고 Duncan test로 분석하였다. 결 과 : 당뇨여성의 성기능 점수(48.77±7.13)는 비당뇨여성의 성기능 점수(60.55±8.13)보다 낮은 것으로 나타났다(p=0.000). 당뇨여성의 경우 신경합병증과 혈관합병증이 있는 여성은 합병증이 없는 여성에 비해 성기능 점수가 각각 유의하게 낮았다(p=0.007; p=0.000). 그러나 당뇨유병기간, 공복시 혈당(FBS), 비만도(% IBW), 우울 및 피로도와는 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 결 론 : 당뇨여성의 경우 비당뇨여성에 비해 성기능 정도가 낮았으며, 병리 기질적 특성 등이 성기능에 영향을 주는 것으로 파악되었다. 따라서 긴 유병기간을 지닌 당뇨여성의 성기능을 유지하고 당뇨합병증으로 인해 유발되는 성기능 장애의 적응과 회복을 위한 중재 개발이 필요하다고 사료된다.
