『콤메디아』의 「지옥」과 「연옥」의 등장인물 연구 : 비르질리오를 중심으로

단테는 사후 세계를 여행하며 수많은 인물들을 언급하고 또 만나기도 한다. 대략적으로 약 364명을 여행 중에 만난다. 등장하는 인물들과의 만남과 대화 방식과 내용을 통해 단테는 독자로 하여금 지옥과 연옥을 구분하게도 한다. 본 논문에서는 지옥과 연옥의 몇몇의 주요 인물을 통해 깊이 있는 신곡 이해를 기대한다. 특히 단테와 함께 지옥과 연옥을 순례하는 비르질리오를 중심에 두고 본 연구를 실행하고자 한다.
Abstract
During his journey to the afterlife, Dante mentions and meets numerous characters. Overall, he meets about 364 people during his journey. Through his encounters with characters, the way they speak, and the content of their conversations, Dante allows readers to distinguish between Hell and Purgatory. This article aims to provide a deeper understanding of the Divine Comedy through some key figures of Hell and Purgatory. In particular, I would like to conduct this study by focusing on Virgil, who accompanied Dante on a pilgrimage to Hell and Purgatory.
