The purpose of this study is to examine the study of Art Nouveau based on naturalism in the 19th century, focusing on its relationship with mythical female portraits. Art Nouveau discourse has long been studied by researchers in various fields regarding its form and function. In particular, compared to modern photographers such as Julia Margaret Cameron, her work can be summarized as an organic photography method based on nature, mechanical efficiency, and ethical content based on literature. The significance of this study is to focus on the process of transition to an approach to nature through Art Nouveau and Cameron's photographic materials, and to expand functionalism from a more multi-layered and discursive perspective implied by efforts to explore form in the 19th century.
