유초연계의 거시적 이해:교육접근의 공유

이 글은 성공적 유초연계를 위한 거시적 차원의 논의를 그 목적으로 한다. 기존 유초연계가 전이 프로그램 개발이나 환경 변경 등 미시적 차원에서 주로 이루어진 반면 목적이나 방향성을 검토하는 거시적 차원의 논의에는 소홀해 온 면이 없지 않다. 그 결과 좋은 프로그램이나 제도조차 제대로 정착되지 못하는 일이 발생하는 경우가 있어 왔다. 이 글은 성공적 유초연계의 당면과제이자 전제조건을 거시적 차원에서의 논의로 보고 교육접근 공유를 하나의 해결방안으로 제안하였다. 논의 순서는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교육접근 공유를 통한 유초연계의 중요성을 먼저 살펴볼 것이다. 이어서 현행 교육체제 내에서 교육접근 공유가 가능한지를 2007년 개정 초등 통합교육과정 분석을 통해 알아볼 것이다. 마지막으로 교육접근 공유를 통한 유초연계방식이 좀 더 효율적으로 진행되기 위한 제반 여건을 살펴보는 것으로 글을 맺고자 한다. 이런 논의는 원론적 차원으로만 끝나지 않고 현행 유초연계를 실질적으로 실행시키기 위한 하나의 좋은 계기가 될 것으로 기대한다.
Abstract
The discussion of experiential continuity and successful transition between kindergarten and elementary education has long been dominated by methodological and administrational concerns to the exclusion of concern for its primary purpose. This confinement tends to discourage transaction activities in practice and also distorts their methodological and administrational efforts. These problems could be well solved if both educational levels would share an educational approach which included both the existential and the ontological in purpose and evaluation. This study explores 2007 national revised elementary integrated curriculum in order to illuminate the possibility of sharing an educational approach at both educational levels. The results of this study show that the 2007 National Rervised Elementary Integrated Curriculum is well equipped with a proven suitable context for ensuring experiential continuity and successful transition from kindergarten to elementary school: thematic learning and/or project learning.
