Abstract
To enhance the use of alternative fuels such as waste synthetic resin and stabilize chlorine control in cement kilns, this study investigates the effects of implementing a chlorine bypass (CB) system and determines the required CB capacity for future increases in alternative fuel usage. By analyzing the behavior and mass balance of chlorine components under current cement kiln operating conditions, the chlorine behavior was predicted under varying waste synthetic resin inputs and CB ratios. The results indicate that increasing alternative fuel usage from 22.8% (252 ton/day of waste synthetic resin input) to 81.3% (900 ton/day) necessitates a CB ratio of approximately 10% to maintain the current chlorine concentration at the kiln inlet. This study provides valuable insights for optimizing alternative fuel utilization in cement kilns while ensuring effective chlorine management.
