근대 ‘天才’와 ‘詩人' 표상의 상관성

Abstract

This article examines poetry as a genre in the infancy of modern literature and the perception of the time inherent in the poet as the subject of its act through the concept of genius. Modern intellectuals facing colonial reality tried to establish themselves as modern subjects by seeking to transform reality. Literature, which has become a practical means, has given a view not only of reality but also beyond reality, and poetry, in particular, has emerged as an important genre that can show individuality and creativity. Poets, who have become the subject of seeking new possibilities in literature along with new prospects for the future, overcame the limitations of language and thought at the time and projected changes in the poet's artistic orientation and perception as poets into the concept of genius. Genius meant a poet who constantly pursues ultimate beauty at the boundary between reality and reality reform, and at the same time served as a driving force to think about Korean modern literature in the category of world literature. In this way, genius functioned as a marker for the literary orientation of the time and drove the growth of poetry in the 1920s in a way that constantly expanded its abstraction.
