Abstract

This essay aims to investigate the search for moral and coexistence in modern social tragedies. Tragedy is the result of a man’s trying to increase his/her self-esteem justly and to secure his rightful status in his /her family and society. Important for Miller’s social tragedy, is the best living custom which undertakes both personal and social responsibilities. He emphasizes on the balanced relations between the individuals and society to lead a coexistence of the mankind. In All My Sons, Joe Kelller shipped faulty parts to armed forces. He crimes so terrible that one of his sons puts himself to death, and the other family rejects his system of thoughts and values. Keller is also shown to have a guilty conscience for his anti social criminal offense, committing suicide. But in killing himself he realizes the responsibilities to others which has up until now ignored. Death of a Salesman is about Willy Loman’s living and death and his failure to realize his dreams in a materialistic society. He is the victim of both a harsh society and his own misguided dreams instigated by the society. He lacks touch with reality, the ability to adapt himself to new circumstances, and social morals. Though Willy Loman is sacrificed, he gains selfknowledge. Th ese two plays underline individual, social moral and responsibility, the restoration of humanity and human dignity. Th e Creation of the World and Other Business is a new attempt of human coexistence. Cain’s murder tells Miller’s persisting worries that the desire to kill is never killed in our minds. We must overcome this evil to live with people together, loving one another)
