Abstract

It is main object of this treatise that investigate about change aspect of North Korea's drama and the characteristic that appear during the last fifty years. We divide North Korea's drama according to main time in this treatise and examined the tendency and characteristic. The division followed the standard of time that hold usually in North Korea. That is, It is general ⑴ the time for the peaceful construction (1945.8 - 1950.6), ⑵ the time for the war of motherland's liberation (1950.6 1953.7), ⑶ the post-war time for rehabilitative construction (1953.7 - 1960), ⑷ the time for the socialist entire construction (1960 - 1966), that divide by ⑸ the time of the establishment for the system of one thought (1967 - presents). Generally, the form of drama that is announced at time from ⑴ to ⑷ is socialistic realism work, and the subject and substance follow North Korea party line policy, North Korea supremo's direction. The socialistic realism form of North Korea's drama is being made by Soviet Union's effect in 1940 - 50 years mainly. Specially, Soviet Union's realism play and drama affected big organization of North Korea's drama immediately after liberlation. While, the pattern of dramas that is announced at time of ⑸ is various form and it is characteristic that appear. Therefore, distinguish drama of this time from thing of front time and call that is 'The dramatic arts of the independence'(주체 극예술). This 'The dramatic arts of the independence's inherit the theatrical tradition of anti-Japan revolution that happen in Manjoo area (the north-eastern area of China) in rule period of Japan imperialism, and the formal characteristic is that is having complex performing arts form. That play of anti-Japan revolution was made by leader Kim II-sung of anti-Japan revolutionary movement of 1920 - 30 years, is emphasized in North Korea. In the meantime, from early 1970's, formed ‘Revolutionary dramatic arts'(혁명적 극예술) is insisted in North Korea that present North Korea's supremo Kim Jung-il made as leading. Performing arts are very important national culture business in North Korea so much. North Korea's performing arts that is made in period of the independence erupted by great many performing art forms because mix and rearranges various artistic ureas such as chorus, narration, song, group dancing, orchestra performance, stage conversion of flowing way. These various performing arts are retaining common feature in point that intend ‘Revolutionary masterpiece'(혁명적 대작) that stage scale is big also. Lately, the dramas that reflect actual everyday life are appearing much. Trifling problems of life of these dramas are dealt with the housing problem, the health problem, the question of marriage, the love problem, the college matriculation problem to site of drama. But, though the political subject appears usually to these work, it is that exist on background of the work. The general research in the research about North Korea's drama was many until present but the research that detail forward should be achieved much. This treatise is that is written on precondition for research target that is such. This treatise is that is written by spread the correct awareness about North Korea's drama, and by desire that more individual researches consist.
