Abstract

The Aim of this Study is to explain why Lee Tae-jun had joined left circle after Liberation of Korea. Until that time he was known as a stylist who do not has any interest about political campaign. My point is this problem can be answered by analyse the grammar of narrative. Because grammar is more immanent and prior to writer's intention. Grammar is semantic and syntactic system that produces message. Grammar is established institution and furthermore inner form of ideology so writer can not make it, it makes writer. In Colonial period Lee Tae-jun showed pathos to the victims of colonial system. Having pity for peoples was the grammatical contour of counter-nationalism. But it ended with sentimental expenditure because he himself close the way to concrete approach to them. Lee Tae-jun have to satisfy grammar's mandate. By the Liberation on 1945 he got a chance to recover that. He faced the alternatives between left and right, North and South. he chose left and North. Because he thought the former was right and progressive. He must prove his choice was right thing. Several short stories which was written in this times showed the process discovering a truth. He described the South as a hell and North as a heaven. That was the truth he have to say. Does that truth was his truth? His quest must be ended because there can not be any objetion to that truth.
