Abstract
Low molecular weight proteins(LMWP) is molcular weight(below 50,000), which pass easily through the glomerular membrane. About 95 % of the LMWP filtered is reabsobed and catabolized in the proximal tubles. Therefore , in the renal failure, urine excretion of LMWP is increased because of dysfunction of renal tubular reabsorption. LMWPs measured daily are ß2-microglobulin and a1-microglobulin. These patterns excreted differ according to renal tubular failure. Generally, it is known that a1-microglobulin is more useful than ß2-microglobulin for diagnosis of renal failure.
