한국 IT산업의 대중국 수출경쟁력 분석에 관한 연구

IT산업은 한국의 미래 동력산업이다. 한국 IT산업의 수출은 2014년 말 1,057억 6천2백만 달러로 전 산업의 수출에서 IT산업이 차지하는 비중이 18.47%에 달하고 있으며, 그 중 대중국 수출비중은 34.25%를 차지하고 있다. 최근 세계적인 글로벌 경제 침체와 함께 중국 IT산업의 급성장은 한국 IT산업의 수출경쟁력을 약화시킬 우려가 제기되고 있다. 본 연구는 한국과 중국 IT산업의 수출입 현황을 분석한 다음, 주요 수출시장인 중국시장에서의 수출경쟁력을 2008년부터 2014년까지 시장점유율지수, 무역특화지수, 시장비교우위지수와 수출편향지수 등의 다양한 방법을 활용하여 종합적으로 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 분석결과를 요약하면, 한국 IT산업의 대중국 시장점유율은 매년 증가 추세에 있으며, 2014년의 경우 19.69%를 기록하고 있다. 무역특화지수와 시장비교우위지수, 그리고 수출편향지수를 이용한 분석에서도 한국 IT산업은 현재 중국시장에서 수출경쟁력을 가지고 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 이러한 분석 결과는 한국 IT산업이 앞으로 더욱 격화될 중국시장에서의 경쟁환경에 적절히 대응하기 위해서는 수출시장과 수출품목의 다변화, 경쟁국과 차별화된 고부가가치 상품의 개발, IT 핵심 부품산업과 IT서비스업의 적극적인 육성, 고위기술 상품 위주로의 산업 포트폴리오 재편 등이 필요함을 시사해 주고 있다.
Abstract
IT industry is future-driving industry for Korea. IT industry is the core strength realizing trade surplus, and every country commits their best efforts into the growth of the industry. Korea recorded 105.7 billion dollars export in IT industry, yielding trade surplus of 60.0 billion dollars as of the end of 2014. Meantime, China is top country for both export and import in Korea, and has become strong competitor in every field of IT industry. Therefore, this study aims to overview the status quo of IT industry and to analyze the export competitiveness of Korean IT industry in China market. This paper provided a statistical review of IT industry data from K-stat. Using of MSI, TSI, MCA index, and EBI, it analysed export competitiveness of IT industry to China from 2008 to 2014. To sum up the results, the MSI of Korean IT industry has been increasing every year and recorded 19.69% in 2014, TSI and RCA, and ESI have competitive advantages for IT industry export in China market. To maintain export competitiveness of IT industry, Korea shall provide innovative measures to diversify items to export. Also, Korean IT industry should reinforce core spare parts and the global specification system, upgrade industrial structures focusing on high-class technologies. Furthermore, Korea should pay attention to technological improvement through more investment to the original technology.
