Abstract
To find the effectiveness of cardiac marker tests and blood chemistry analysis in the diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction, a 25 patient control group was matched by sex and age with 25 healthy subjects. Both groups were tested with cardiac markers and blood chemistry analysis was performed. The following are the results acquired from the study: There was a significant difference between the two groups in blood glucose, LDH, and CPK. There was a significant difference between the two groups in the cardiac marker, mean values of CK-MB, myoglobin, and troponin-T. The comparisons of the patients' blood chemistry values to normal reference values: 85.0% in LDH, 87.0% in myoglobin, 69.5% in CK-MB, 60.9% in troponin T, 45.2% in AST, 72.4% in CPK, 36.0% in glucose, and 24.3% in ALT show abnormalities. The results show diabetes in 20% of the acute myocardial infarction patients. Time series changes of positive values of CK-MB and troponin T were the highest at 100.0% from 12 to 24 hours. Troponin T positive value time series changes were the highest at 100.0% from 6 to 48 hours after acute myocadial infarction symptoms appeared.
