『三綱行實圖』효자편과 『진대방전』의 거리

『삼강행실도』효자편과 『진대방전』은 영향 관계가 뚜렷하다. 『진대방전』이 『삼강행실도』효자편에 토대를 두고 창작되었기 때문에 이런 현상이 생긴다. 정황이 이러하지만, 그 성격과 방향이 동일하지는 않다. 『삼강행실도』효자편은 이념지향적이다. 그림과 효행담이 개인의 욕망을 이념의 영역에 복속시키면서 신체적 고통을 행복한 환상으로 전환시킨다. 한편, 『진대방전』은 현실지향적이다. 표면적으로는 ‘현실적 욕망→이념적 욕망’의 공리주의가 우세한 듯하나, 이면적으로는 ‘현실적 욕망 VS 이념적 욕망’의 양상을 띠면서 개인주의와 공리주의가 팽팽히 맞선다. 두 저작물이 달라지는 요인을 캐볼 필요가 있다. 효행의 해석기준이 바뀌었다는 점이 그 첫 번째이고, 사회적 모순을 감추는 방법이 바뀌었다는 점이 그 두 번째이다. 두 저작물의 성격과 방향을 견주어본 결과, 효 윤리의 위상이 많이 다르다. 효 윤리가 『삼강행실도』효자편에서는 아주 높고 『진대방전』에서는 아주 낮다.
Abstract
There are clear influential relations between the filial son story of Samganghaengsildo and Jindaebangjeon because the latter was created based on the former. With those circumstances aside, however, there are no common character and direction between them. The filial son story of Samganghaengsildo is ideology-oriented with the pictures and filial duty episodes subjugating personal desire in the domain of ideology and transforming physical pain into a happy fantasy. Jindaebangjeon is, on the other hand, reality-oriented. The utilitarianism of "realistic desire → ideological desire" seems to prevail on the surface, but the "realistic desire vs. ideological desire" pattern is found on the inside with a tense confrontation between individualism and utilitarianism. There is a need to delve into the factors that caused differences between the two works. One of the factors was the changed criteria of interpreting filial duty, and another was the changed method to hide social contradictions. The two works were also compared for character and direction, and the comparison results point out big differences in the status of filial duty ethics between them. The filial duty ethics was very high in filial son story of Samganghaengsildo and very low in Jindaebangjeon.
