초등학생의 삶의 목적의식(sense of purpose in life) 함양을 위한 실천 연구

초록

본 연구에서는 삶의 목적의식 함양을 위한 교육 프로그램의 구성 요소와 생활기술을 구조화하였다. 삶의 목적의식 함양에 도움을 주는 총 10개의 교육 프로그램(16 차시)을 개발하여 교수·학습 활동을 전개한 이후 학생들의 삶의 목적과 그릿, 정신건강 수준에 어떠한 변화가 나타나는지 실험집단과 통제집단을 비교하였다. 분석 결과, 실험집단의 학생들은 삶의 목적 수준에서 통계적으로 유의미한 향상이 나타났으며, 그릿과 정신건강 수준도 다소 향상되었다. 학생들은 교육 프로그램 이수 이전보다 자신의 인생이 새롭고 흥분되고 기대되며, 자신의 삶이 최상의 것들로 가득 차 있고, 자신은 은퇴 후 새롭고 신나는 일을 할 것이며, 자신의 평소 생활은 열정적이고 활기차다고 응답했다. 이는 삶의 목적의식 함양을 위한 교육 프로그램으로 학생들의 삶의 목표 수준이 향상될 수 있음을 입증한다.

Abstract

In this study, components of educational programs and life skills were structured to foster a sense of purpose in life. By developing a total of 10 educational programs to help foster a sense of purpose in life and applying these programs to teaching method & learning activities, experimental groups and control groups were compared to see changes in students' consciousness on the sense of purpose in life, grit and mental health levels. As a result of the analysis, the students of the experimental group showed statistically significant improvement in the sense of purpose in life, and the grit and mental health level also somewhat improved. After exposure to educational programs, students in experimental condition told that their lives are now turned new, exciting and, full of energy. Hence, this study proves that early interventions in the elementary school settings are very effective to promote students' sense of purpose in life.
