예거(W. Jaeger)는 K 1-2에 나타난 소피아의 개념과 관련해서 소피아를 신학으로 규정하고 있다. 그러나 예거의 해석은 K 1-2에 제시된 모든 물음들에 적용되지 않는다. 특별히 열 번째 물음과 관련해서 그러하다. 예거는 소피아의 개념을 다루면서 초감각적 실체에 대한 이론과 감각적 실체에 대한 이론의 대립만을 염두에 두고 있다. 물론 이 대립은 어떤 물음들과 관련해서는 명백하다. 그러나 본문은 또한 다른 대립을 보여주고 있다. 그것은 신학과 존재론의 대립이다. 여기서 중요 물음은 소피아 즉 탐구되는 학문(ζητούμενη ἐπιστήμη)이 스스로 존재하는 부동의 실체에 관한 학문인가 아니면 존재로서 존재에 관한 학문인가라는 것이다. 연구자는 이 논문에서 K 1-2에 나타난 소피아의 개념이 ‘소멸하지 않는 영원한 실체’에 관한 학문이지 아니며 ‘존재로서 존재’에 관한 학문인지를 살펴보게 될 것이다. 이를 위해서 먼저 K 1에 나타난 신학으로서 소피아 개념과 그 근거가 되는 본문을 살펴볼 것이다. 그리고 K 2에서 제시된 존재론으로서 소피아 개념을 살펴보면서 어떤 개념이 더 소피아의 본성에 부합하는지를 검토하게 될 것이다.
Abstract
Referring to his discussion of two problems in K 1-2, W. Jaeger regards the concept of sophia as the theology in his Aristotle: Metaphysics. But Jaeger's interpretation is not applicable to every problem in K 1-2, especially not to the tenth. In dealing with the problem of the authenticity of K, Jaeger has in mind only the contrast of a theory of supersensible substance and a theory of sensible substance. This contrast is of course obvious in some problems, but the text also shows another contrast, i.e. the contrast between theology and ontology. The dominating problem is rather: is the sophia a science of self-existing unmovable substance or a science of being qua being. I think that the main idea of sophia in K 1-2 is not the metaphysics of imperishable eternal substance, but the theory of being qua being. I will examine every problems in K 1-2 in order to define the concept of sophia as the theory of being qua being.
