The Serial Multiple Mediation Effect of Self-Control and Attention Problems on the Relationship between Mother's Weekday Media Play and Children's Play Interactions

The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating role of self-control and attention problem in the effect of mother's media play frequency on children's play interaction. For this purpose, data from the 7th year of the panel study on korean children of the Korean institute of child care and education was used, and the data were analyzed using R 4.1.3 and PROCESS macro v4.1 for R. The results of this study are as follows. First, the mother's media play frequency had a negative effect on the self-control and a positive effect on the attention problem. On the paly interaction, self-control had a positive effect and attention problem had a negative effect. Self-control had a negative effect on attention problems. Second, in the effect of the mother's media play frequency on the children's play interaction, the self-control and attention problem had a negative mediating effects. Finally, in the effect of the mother's media play frequency on the play interaction, the self-control and attention problem had a negative serial multiple mediated effect.
Abstract
