The Cohn-Jordan extension and skew monoid rings over a quasi-Baer ring

Abstract

A ring R is called (left principally) quasi-Baerif theleft annihilator of every (principal) left ideal ofR is generated byan idempotent. LetR be a ring, G be an ordered monoid actingon R by and R be G-compatible. It is shown thatR is (leftprincipally) quasi-Baer if and only if skew monoid ring R [G] is(left principally) quasi-Baer. IfG is an abelian monoid, then R is(left principally) quasi-Baer if and only if the Cohn-Jordan exten-sion A(R;) is (left principally) quasi-Baer if and only if left Orequotient ring G1R [G] is (left principally) quasi-Baer.
