여성이 행복한 도시가 가지는 반여성적 장치와 효과들: 푸코의 공간화된 사유를 중심으로 바라본 분당의 경우에 대하여

본 논문은 ‘지속가능한 발전’, ‘삶의 질’의 향상이라는 이름으로 진행되는 현대의 도시 계획들이 그 기원에 있어서는 여성주의적인 특질들을 가지고 있음에도 불구하고 실제 도시라는 공간에서 거주하는 여성 주체의 경험적 차원으로 진입했을 때 반여성주의적 효과와 실천들을 야기시키는 장치들로 작동한다는 비판적 지점을 푸코의 계보학적 전략을 통해 드러내고자 한다. 주체에 대한 푸코의 계보학적 이해가 시간보다는 공간화된 사유라는 전략을 통해 주장되어 왔다는 점에 기반하여 본 논의에서는 그 공간을 다시 도시라는 구체화된 거주의 공간으로 펼쳐 놓고 그 도시를 통치하는 장치가 어떻게 여성 주체의 경험을 형성하는지 분석할 것이며 이를 통해 도시가 가지는 통치의 장치-재화와 인구의 원활한 순환-들이 어떻게 잘 조절되고 운영되고 있는가를 묻기 보다는 그러한 장치들이 가지는 반여성주의적 효과와 실천들에 대해 비판적으로 검토할 것이다. 특히 재화와 인구의 원활한 순환을 통해 통치적 질서를 꾀하려고 했던 신도시의 경우 그 문제점이 더욱 극명하게 드러난다는 점에 주목하여 중산층 거주 지역으로 이해되는 분당의 특수성을 통해 기존의 여성과 도시에 대한 관심 역시 단순히 물리적인 시설에 기반한 삶의 쾌적함이나 도시의 문화 산업적 가치를 넘어서 그 안에서 거주하는 여성 주체의 다양한 삶과 관계를 지향해야 한다는 사실을 주장하고자 한다.
Abstract
This research intends to reveal that contemporary urban renovation projects carried out the slogan of “sustainable development” or “quality of life enhancement” that presumedly bears feminist ideals could result in the dis-empowerment of women who live in the city. Utilizing Foucault's genealogical strategy, I attempt to analyze the way in which urban physical structure affect the identity formation of women through their daily experiences. Based on the idea that Foucault's understanding of subject is coherently supported in terms of spatializing thinking rather than temporalizing one, I will firstly question how some specific dispositions of urban structure could help to make strong her experience as particular form of feministic identity, and secondly review how dispositions of urban structure for governing could make it possible anti-feministic effects and practices with a critical perspective. Especially taking notice of the typical case of the first generation of Korean Newtown -Bundang- which is led by the governmental will for the purpose of good circulation of nation's commodities and population, the matter of primary concerns to the city and feministic identity as well should be approached toward the possibility of making feministic identity based on various form of life and relationship in the urban structure beyond the face-values of convenience relying on physical facilities and profit from culture industry.
