본 연구의 목적은 공간적 시민성 교육의 구체적인 실천 방안을 제공하고 교육 활성화 및 보편화에 기여하는 문제 기반공간적 시민성 교수･학습모형을 개발하는 것이다. 교사･학습자의 요구를 반영하며, 공간적 시민성과 문제 기반 학습에 대한분석을 통해 교수･학습모형 초안을 개발하고, 지리교육 전문가의 내적 타당성 평가와 현장 교사들의 외적 타당성 평가를 거쳐 최종 모형을 확정하였다. 이는 문제, 지리정보기술, 협력적 지식 창출, 공간, 반성, 시민성을 구성요소로 설정하고, 각 구성요소에 관련된 세부적인 교수 전략, 활동 등을 안내하는 15개의 교수 원리와 그 하위 45개의 상세 지침, 구체적인 교수･학습단계를 제시하는 절차모형으로 구성된다. 교수･학습모형은 현장 교사들에게 공간적 시민성 교육을 위한 구체적･실질적인교수 전략을 제공한다. 또한, 학생들이 협력을 통해 문제해결에 필요한 지식을 창출하고, 지리정보와 지리정보기술을 활용하여 지리적 시각화, 의사소통, 사회 참여 등을 수행함으로써 공간적 시민성을 함양하도록 이끈다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to develop a problem based teaching and learning model for spatial citizenship that provides concrete implementation strategies for spatial citizenship education, contributing to its activation and spread. The preliminary model was developed by reflecting the needs of teachers and learners and by analyzing spatial citizenship and problem based learning. The final model was confirmed after internal validity evaluation by geography education experts and external validity evaluation by teachers. This model sets the components as problems, geospatial technologies, collaborative knowledge creation, space, reflection, and citizenship, and provides 15 teaching principles with 45 detailed guidelines related to each component. It also presents a procedural model that outlines specific teaching and learning stages. The model provides concrete and practical teaching strategies for spatial citizenship education to teachers. Moreover, it guides students in fostering spatial citizenship by collaboratively generating knowledge necessary for problem solving and by using geographic information and geospatial technologies to engage in geographic visualization, effective communication, and active social participation.
