이 논문은 니체에 대한 해석 방식과 1981년 파리에서 이루어진 가다머와 데리다의 논쟁에 근거하여 두 철학자의 사유 방식의 차이를 제시함과 동시에 더 나아가 차이 속에서 유사성을 고찰함으로써 상호간의 대화 가능성을 모색하고 있다. 우선 가다머와 데리다의 차이는 니체에 대한 둘의 상이한 해석과 해석학과 해체주의의 갈래에서 두 철학이 지향하는 바에서 제시된다. 가다머는 니체의 사유에서 주체 철학의 정점을 보았으며 이를 형이상학적 사유로 규정하고 있다. 그렇기에 그는 니체적 사유로부터 벗어나 존재에 대한 이해의 과정으로서 대화적 변증법을 중심에 둔 철학적 해석학을 전개한다. 반면 데리다는 니체에게서 진리의 복수성이 긍정되고 있음을 보았고 이로부터 전통 형이상학의 극복으로서 차이의 놀이에 대한 사유를 전개하고 있다. 그러나 가다머와 데리다 사이의 이러한 차이에도 불구하고 둘은 공통적으로 텍스트의 사건적 성격을 사유한다는 점과 두 사상가의 중심 개념인 차연과 지평융합 사이에 구조적 유사성이 있다는 점에서 상호간의 대화 가능성이 열려 있음을 볼 수 있다.
Abstract
This paper illustrates the difference between the thought processes of Gadamer and Derrida based on their interpretation of Nietzsche and the argument that occurs in Paris in 1981. Furthermore, within the context of the differences between the two thinkers, this paper also seeks the possibility of them establishing a mutual dialogue. First of all, the difference between Gadamer and Derrida is highlighted by their disparate interpretations of Nietzsche and intention related to their philosophical perspectives, hermeneutics, and deconstruction. Gadamer considers Nietzsche’s thinking the peak of subject philosophy. Thus, deviating from Nietzsche’s philosophy, he develops philosophical hermeneutics, which is a dialogue about being and its understanding. In contrast, Derrida believes that Nietzsche affirms the plurality of truth. From this point, he develops his own thinking based on the play of difference. Despite these differences between these two thinkers, there do exist certain similarities in their thought processes. These are that they consider texts as the grounds of an event and that there is structural resemblance between differànce and Horizontverschmelzung. This opens up the possibility of a dialogue between Gadamer and Derrida.
