초등 과학 생명 영역에 대한 학습차원의 하위 범주 분석
Analysis of Lower Categories of Dimensions of Learning in Elementary Biological Science Units

Abstract
Dimensions of Learning, based on the vast studies on learning cognitions and learning processes, has been played an important role as one of the framework of curriculum and learning strategies. Dimensions of Learning is consist of 5 Dimensions, each of 'Attitudes and Perceptions', 'Acquire and Integrate Knowledge', 'Extend and Refine Knowledge', 'Use Knowledge Meaningfully', 'Habits of Mind'. And each dimension has 3～8 lower categories in itself. The biological units of elementary school science were classified to the lower categories of Dimensions of Learning as a basis of a systematic teaching and learning. The percentages of using the lower categories in the whole biological units of elementary school science were Attitudes and Perceptions(85.0%), Acquire and Integrate Knowledge(74.0%), Extend and Refine Knowledge(61.5%), Use Knowledge Meaningfully(62.8%), Habits of Mind(52.8%), respectively. This result coincided approximately with the original study that had systemized Dimensions of Learning to Dimension 1 through Dimension 5. And the percentages of using the lower categories according to grade 3 to 6 were 56.1%, 61.4%, 67.1%, 86.8%, respectively, that meaned a desirable results considering the physiological, cognitive development of elementary students. Especially critical thinking, creative thinking, self-regulated thinking of Habits of Mind were used to a great extent in 6th grade, which fitted on the objective of the curriculum to improve a students' cognitive developments, inquiry abilities, and creativities. Further studies which are the concrete organizations and effect of teaching and learning with each Dimensions of Learning are required.
